It's an Old, Old Story

It's an Old, Old Story
Contemplations by Peter and Helen Evans

We find ourselves in an awkward position just now. We are shocked, saddened and outraged by the most recent acts of terrorism which killed thousands of innocents. At the same time, if we can lift ourselves above the red daze of vengeance, we are shocked, saddened and outraged by the prospect of the inevitable deaths of many more innocents in our equally inevitable attempt to "punish" the terrorists. We don't want terrorism and we don't want war, and one or the other or both seem inevitable. What to do!?

We find ourselves in much the same position as did Arjuna, the central figure of an ancient story, the Bhagavad Gita. He was a member of one branch of a royal family which was divided over who should rule the shared kingdom. The dispute between the opposing branches of the family had escalated to war. Arjuna asks Krishna, his charioteer, to take him to the middle of the battlefield to survey the two armies arrayed to clash. Even though he feels he is on the side of righteousness (and has God incarnated as Krishna "on his side"), he is totally dismayed at the prospect of going to war against his cousins, his beloved uncle, his revered teachers and countless other relatives. He is shocked, saddened and outraged at the evil that has brought things to this state, and at the carnage which will inevitably follow. Sound familiar?

Arjuna is a member of the 'Kshatrya' caste in his society. This is like the Samurai, the warrior or military class. It is his 'dharma' or duty to fight for righteousness. Yet he refuses. He drops his weapon and sadly says that neither for wealth or fame or kingship will he slaughter his kin. He would rather be killed himself. This is how the first of the eighteen chapters of the Bhagavad Gita ends.

In the remainder of this short, but dense little book, Krishna explains to Arjuna that he must act. But, that he must do so without fear of the consequences, and without desire for personal satisfaction or gain. He must consecrate his actions to the higher ideal of re-establishing Truth and righteousness in the world.

The Samurai operate according to the same code of honor, devotion to the will of their lord. It is said that, if you can anger a Samurai who is coming to kill you, he is honor- bound to desist in his attack, at least until he re-centers himself in selfless devotion. Then... you better run!

As we read reports of the thousands fleeing Afghanistan, we see in the disruption of those many lives, yet another aspect of the collateral damage of terrorism. We know that it is right to strive to rid the world of this evil, yet, if we are honest, we are dismayed that we must do so by more killing. We may recall the words of the grief-stricken Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along!?"

We may be tempted to fall into the too-easy duality of "us" and "them" and pretend that if we can get rid of the terrorists this time, then "everything will be all right" and we can go back to business as usual. It's not that simple, and, thankfully, most of us are not that simple- minded either. The "problem of violence" is not limited to a few "evil terrorists". It is an aspect of humanity, and that's the good news in this sorry scenario. We are all part of humanity, and every step we take to rid ourselves of the evil of violence moves all of humanity toward righteousness.

At one level, we are simply spectators to the events unfolding now on the world stage, and can only hope that our hired warriors will behave honorably. But at a deeper more personal level, a level where we CAN make a difference, we are in the chariot with Krishna, on our own battlefield.

It may not be easy, right away, to know what is the higher ideal, but we can all be easily aware of when we are acting for our own, personal satisfaction.

Let us be calm and listen to our higher guidance.

    Hi Nicholas

If the justice system is toxic and you are without avenues to be appropriately enabled to state your case and be heard with fair equitable and humane values in front of a panel of your peers - as all citizens have been led to believe should be natural rights and automatic – then something has gone very seriously wrong with the justice system and the citizens watchfulness and especially the governance of this country which appear to have either allowed such culpabilities you have presented in your recent correspondences or they are completely out of touch with the situation.

I have only just gains some traction / awareness of your matters and am still a bit stunned at what the magnitude of this portends. While I don’t know you personally Nicholas I can deeply empathise with the plight you find yourself in.

The question arises – “Where to from here?” – That is a quote from a personal letter sent to me by john Hatton (do you recall the Justice Woods inquiry into NSW in the nineties which John initiated. At the time he too was feeling exactly like you say you feel in this email you sent. Of course there is far more and I would like the opportunity to stay in correspondence with you regards the situation regards how the situation may yet be enabled to your betterment.

I just wanted to send these fleeting thoughts of support for you knowing there have been many travesties over many decades and you now appear to be the latest casualty – stay strong – and be aware that courage in adversity is a very admirable quality – but it helps to hear other voices in your time of world weariness.

Funny just as your email arrived I was watching again the story of Krishna and Arjuna on the battlefield – does it ring any bells – if not look it up
    Thanks for the update

    Best wishes

    MacLeod (

    to me
    Hi Nicholas
I received an email from Lamberto Fedeli ( I sometimes get several in a week) about his never ending saga against the legal system (20 year I think so far)
He was chastised by others for his belligerent attitude which he was suggested long ago to change (to no avail)
He responded to matters I sent him last night – and I have replied again to him this morning with regard to our recent exchange and the
synergise, synchronicities (TAO) of the events and how to best look at approaching the impossible battle odds…

Whether he will comprehend at last I don’t know…

But there are big issues of concern and oppression that are long standing for many individuals in the community – often we never know about them – they are part of those
Who have simply faded into the background and learned to endure the unendurable – or tolerate the intolerable – that has to change as we both know. However the vested
interests have a veil of protection it seems that was erected and then deformed into corruption hiding behind the criminalised agendas therein thus the higher
truths are obstructed from reaching the people who are paralysed in some way into a coerced dependence ….and become reliant on “beliefs’ that have not been noble ethical or truly spiritual.
The law uses the Book in regard to matters of truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth ….as I used to recall…but now people say the law lies with lawyers etc….
    Anyway enough
    I have already sent a day’s reading / viewing
    Cheers

I was writing this reflection from recent correspondence I sent to Nicholas Chin in WA see attached where he has Posted my comments on his blog site.

My reflections take segments of recent mail received re Larry Pickering who knows about 1975 matters – I have a 1979 correspondence from him
    In regards to that

ANGRY LION AND SAMURAI CODE – METAPHOR STORY

Krishna explains to Arjuna that he must act. But, that he must do so without fear of the consequences, and without desire for personal satisfaction or gain. He must consecrate his actions to the higher ideal of re-establishing Truth and righteousness in the world.

The Samurai operate according to the same code of honour, devotion to the will of their lord. It is said that, if you can anger a Samurai who is coming to kill you, he is honour- bound to desist in his attack, at least until he re-centers himself in selfless devotion. Then... you better run!
    (Peter and Helen Evans)

The stupid Yanks believe they can change hearts and minds by dropping 10 million instructional pamphlets prior to smart-bombing the shit out of a country. Bombing the bastards only makes them angrier. It can only ever prolong and worsen the confrontation. If you wish to confront an angry lion make sure you kill it... don’t injure it. (Larry Pickering) – What is another name for Lion Berto……

    My thoughts continue….
In life we get many barbs sent our way – slings and arrows – that we have to deal with without being overwhelmed by the venom anger revenge attitudes etc. These can be systematically sent our way by others – and we must resolve and calm before action to get real healing results – if the distemper increases then you are in ever deepening trouble….. the real deal is happening and the “gods and goddesses” are more synchronistically at play – just check these thoughts from Nicholas Chin sent last night…
So Berto while I wait since 1975 to get truth answered by the corrupt cover-up by bomb crazy cohorts of global agendas…. of those days….. it has only been 37 years – at least NOW there are more people able to speak out and cross corroborate what has been done – but that is only very recent – and look at the failure of Fitzgerald in Queensland and woods in NSW re matters – THAT is part of your problem and you need to speak with John Hatton – or others about that…. See the ongoing cell deaths in custody in Qld long after Fitzgerald big brotholectomy of Brisbane…. The more things change the more they stay the same – unless we get to a place where we are active in that place where nothing is as active as change – and we see things happen. Think this – I was reading about and watching Arjuna Krishna stuff at the time I heard first from Nicholas Chin – so I was able to send him encouragement which he has posted – see attachment above

Where the is a will there is a way but angry revenge headedness doesn’t get the greater changes happening that are vital – otherwise it is just shooting with peashooters at elephants.

  4. WHY LAWYERS CANNOT DEFEND THEIR MERITORIOUS CLIENTS:
A government-contrived obligation which bans lawyers from presenting evidence which exonerates defendants, if it "disputes the law." Lawyers in an unforgivable meretricious act of obsequious criminality, for pay, adopts the perjury and subreption or the perjurious concealment of evidence, which exonerates defendants.
Over years, literally billions accrue to law firms’ personnel. So in order to ply their lucrative trade (one can no longer dignify this morbid masquerade by calling it a ‘profession’), lawyers blithely abdicate responsibility and forsake honesty for gain. Therefoe lawyers perjuriously consent to this odious denial of the duty to find The Whole Truth. They compound their malfeasance by also tacitly concealing the Jurors’ Rights and Duty to judge the law and to find the Verdict according to the Juror’s conscience. It is for the above reasons that I persuade all my readers to sign the two petitions in great numbers so that justice can be done to the common peopole not only in Australia but throughout the world:
